The bill introduced by Assemblyman Michael DenDekker to mandate registration of bicycles and a $25 fee, though later withdrawn, was off the wall (“Bill for Bike Registration,” Feb. 28).

My husband and I are in our 70s, retired and on a limited budget.

One of the few free things we enjoy is riding our bikes.
