As if parking weren’t already at a premium, the city Department of Transportation announced last week that it’s turning 100 parking spots into charging stations for electric cars.

“Pilot zones” in all five boroughs will feature spots exclusively for electric cars — which account for just 0.4% of vehicles in New York City. “That’s so stupid,” an Upper East Sider told The Post. Bingo.

The most recent stats from the state Department of Motor Vehicles: New York City hosts nearly 2.2. million cars, SUVs, trucks and so on. Just 8,952 of them are electric — including the city government’s green-vehicle fleet, which has its own charging stations.

This won’t “fight climate change,” as DOT pretends: It’ll yield more carbon emissions as drivers circle the neighborhood that much more frantically in search of a spot.

Not to mention that electric-car owners tend to be well-off. Count it as just one more injustice privileging the politically-correct elite in #deBlasio’sNewYork.
