The Issue: Reality star Kim Kardashian’s filing for a divorce after 72 days of marriage.

***

Kim Kardashian’s marriage ended due to “irreconcilable differences” (“Kim & Kris in a ‘Split’ Second,” Nov. 1).

But they weren’t married long enough to know if they even had anything in common.

Kris Humphries is showing his naivete in claiming that he was blindsided by the divorce. Kardashian probably started planning it as soon as the check from People magazine cleared.

My grandmother used to say that men came good at Christmas and went bad by Easter. Christmas to Easter is about 72 days.

Now Kardashian lives by my grandmother’s old wives’ tale. She was married for 72 days and now wants a divorce.

That’s long enough to put up with any man.

Why should any woman waste herself on just one man per year when she could have four men per year?

Who cares about Kim Kardashian?

What has she done other than promote herself? And for what?

She’s an embarrassment to real entertainment.

Do us a favor and keep her off your pages.

When I heard about the impending divorce, I became so upset that I ran into my kitchen and stuck my head into the oven.

I even lost a bet with a friend when I said the marriage wouldn’t last longer than two weeks.

I guess it was too boring playing house.

The media contributed to all the millions Kim and Kris made with their “make believe” marriage.

When the news broke of their divorce, many papers led with their wedding picture, not something more important.
