King Mike
In “Voices of the Decade” (PostScript, Dec. 27), you write about Mayor Blomberg’s accomplishments. You have, however, neglected some of the negatives.
A City Council vote of 29 to 22 overturned term limits, which had been approved by New Yorkers. The mayor simply bought the council and used his fortune to buy votes. Your silence on this abuse of the democratic process is tantamount to approval.
Bloomberg then used his formidable resources to purchase the Republican line. Where is the journalistic outrage at the blatant use of financial power to win an election?
