Public Advocate Letitia James, speaking Tuesday in Brooklyn:

“All of us must raise our voices and say we must stop the violence and we have got a responsibility to keep our community safe . . . There was a time when we snitched; snitching should be a pride of honor. We have got to tell individuals where these guns are and who are bringing these guns into our community.

“Stand up and snitch and protect your grandmother, your mothers and your family, and your community and demand that tax paying dollars go back to our community.”
