The Issue: Calls for Gov. Cuomo to face impeachment after his resignation due to reports of sexual harassment.
Absolutely impeach Gov. Cuomo anyway (“Impeach Him Anyway,” Editorial, Aug. 12).
He must be barred from achieving any “second chance” in politics.
He needs to be held accountable for all the seniors who were infected with COVID and died due to his power.
With all due respect to the brave women who came forward, they are still alive. My aunt died in a nursing home in April of 2020, alone with no proper burial and no religious rites because of his deadly decisions.
Cuomo never answered for it and then profited from it. He should be brought up on charges. My aunt doesn’t get a second chance now that he’s out of office. There should be no second chance for him either. Impeach him.

I think it’s absolutely amazing how the media and the left have focused on Cuomo’s dalliances to bring him to his knees.
He has committed far more egregious acts in his 11 years. Two that stand out are his signing of the incredibly stupid no-bail law and his failure to protect the citizens of New York by preventing the National Guard from quelling the looting and rioting in New York City last year.
He is bound by his oath of office to do that. He did not. That’s dereliction of duty.

Cuomo’s resignation should be just the beginning of his having to answer for the reign of terror he has inflicted upon New York for years.
His corruption, sexual predation and, most egregiously, his baneful nursing-home orders involving COVID patients require full accountability.
Still dripping with arrogance, the bovaristic Cuomo states that he is stepping down for the good of all New Yorkers, probably believing he is providing one last example of his noblesse oblige for the common people. How pathetic.
Cuomo is a glaring example of the left-liberal elite who believe that as long as they preach rectitude, moral character and check all the other virtue-signaling boxes, then they don’t have to actually practice them. New York needs a complete political overhaul.

The entire Cuomo debacle is a prime reason why strict terms limits are needed. Any elected politician should be restricted to one term of service, period.
This stipulation would go a long way toward preventing an ever-recurring problem in government: corruption.
The fact is, the longer someone remains in office, the more powerful that person becomes. That transformation leads to the temptation to abuse one’s power. Don’t believe me? Just look at what happened to Cuomo.

Cuomo should not simply be allowed to resign. He should be prosecuted for the many seniors who died as a direct result of his order.
I wonder if his order would have been different if his mother would have been affected? His arrogance knows no bounds.

Cuomo did the right thing in stepping down.
New York has suffered greatly under his leadership, and this most recent scandal has been a tremendous distraction.
When power that comes from the people is used inappropriately to satisfy one’s selfish desires, it becomes an instrument of tyranny.
Hopefully, with a new governor, the state can begin to heal and prosper once again.

Cuomo’s resignation will most likely halt the impeachment process, allowing him to resurrect himself for another potential run in the future, following completion of his sexual-harassment rehab.
Let us not forget Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Newman and the thousands of other elderly, in or from nursing homes, who died because of his directive, his refusal to use resources available to him and his poor management. May they all rest in peace.
