The Issue: A bombing at Kabul airport that killed 13 US service members and more than 90 Afghans.

President Biden finally took questions on the Afghanistan exit (“Nightmare,” Aug. 27). As expected, it was a rant to deflect and blame the previous administration.

These bombings killed 13 US troops and more than 90 Afghan civilians. Many more Afghans were hurt, and my heart goes out to all their families.

Our troops deserve a moment of silence, but not from Biden, who has their blood on his hands.

Biden is reckless and incompetent, not to mention weak. There were much safer ways to withdraw from Afghanistan. Biden chose the reckless way, and this is the result.

As we mourn the heartbreaking loss of the 13 servicemen who lost their lives, we are stunned by the gross incompetence of the Biden administration.

Now we are relying on an administration that does not have the smarts, courage and will to confront any of our enemies.

If they had any love for America, the president and the entire Cabinet and woke generals would resign.

It is time for us all to pray for our country and stranded countrymen.

As a people, we now need to come together and rally round the president in support of his pursuit of the ISIS-K killers. The end goal is always to protect American interests.

Sniping from the GOP will do no good, as Biden’s team has to make delicate choices so we don’t have a replay of 9/11 on 9/11. We need unity now or we won’t have a country left to argue over.

In the history of the United States, we have been saddled with some really atrocious commanders in chief. Biden’s place in history has already been sealed.

And as the situation in Afghanistan worsens, Biden has left American citizens essentially at the mercy of Taliban whims. The Pentagon reported that there was a “complex” suicide bombing in Kabul. The bombers appeared to be targeting Americans, considering 13 members of the military were killed.

Biden should be impeached or resign due to dereliction of duty.

Norm Misrok, Bellmore

With the latest horrifying slaughter in Afghanistan through bombings at the Kabul airport, it is clear that our botched pullout will long tarnish four presidential administrations and that history will remember Biden as the leader who disastrously brought down the curtain on our ill-fated occupation. Surely it did not have to end this way.

The loss of life and limb of Americans and Afghans as the evacuation continued is a stain on our country, further sapping us of the power and prestige we once enjoyed throughout the world.

Today we focus on the grief, sorrow and anger that people of goodwill are experiencing as we witness such senseless pain and bloodshed.

Biden and his entire administration are totally responsible for the bloodshed on Thursday. I’m so angry about what happened. It didn’t have to.

My prayers go out to all of our troops and Americans trapped. I plead for all Americans, liberal and conservative, to call for answers to this debacle.

I’m praying for the souls of the Marines and corpsman who were savagely killed this week. A grateful nation salutes you for your sacrifice.

Biden should go to his grave knowing he and his administration were complicit in their deaths, and that history will remember their incompetence.
