The Issue: BLM Hawk Newsome’s exit from an interview after he was asked to condemn rioting.

The whole notion of Black Lives Matters’ concern for black lives has been revealed as a hoax (“ ‘Riot’ on the set: BLM’er stalks off,” Nov 15).

Why do people like Hawk Newsome allow themselves to continue to be used as political props by a group that has lost its clout?

Where are these individuals when the crimes are being committed? Why are they not criticizing the criminals?

It’s amazing how easily they can stoke the flames of violence, and when it occurs, go into hiding, claiming it’s not their fault.

I wish someone would ask Newsome the proper questions, such as: What if that is your business being looted and burning? What if that was your parent or grandparent being assaulted?

Greg Raleigh

This was a typical response from a stalwart who continues his hateful propaganda while young black children are murdered every day and he does nothing.

Reform on every level in life hopefully brings better results, but BLM’s outright hate of law enforcement rears its ugly head again and again, and only the children suffer.

Check the real stats. Riots and looting aren’t the answer and never have been, as the chaos only divides further.

Newsome is a coward and hothead. He brings absolutely nothing to the table and throws a temper tantrum when he doesn’t get his own way. He cries that he is being provoked by Dan Bongino when he refuses to condemn and denounce riots and violence.

Newsome and his BLM counterparts have done nothing to make communities safer, economically stable or free of violence and crime. In fact, crime has gotten exceedingly out of hand and gun violence is soaring.

He doesn’t want to sit down and have an actual conversation and acknowledge that his efforts to malign the efforts of law-enforcement officers and support ridiculous policies have created a system of lawlessness and criminality that is a cancer in our communities.

Newsome’s strategy is based purely on the model perfected by the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Following Jackson and Sharpton’s extortion of corporations and municipalities is his ticket to fame and fortune.

The Issue: Michael Goodwin’s column on President Biden’s failure to address inflation.

As Michael Goodwin so aptly puts it in his column (“2nd coming of Herbert Hoover?” Nov. 14), President Biden hasn’t got a clue as to how to lower inflation, except to pass his $1.75 trillion boondoggle bill.

Everything is going up in price, and pretty soon people like me, who are on fixed incomes, will be left out in the cold.

It is time that Biden and his cronies re-institute the policies of former President Donald Trump that made this nation an independent producer of oil and natural gas.

Richard A. Ketay

Gas prices are going up for a reason. Biden deliberately reversed policies that made America a net exporter of energy in order to please his big donors, who lecture us about climate change as they fly in private jets.

That White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki would use the higher prices as justification for promoting their green agenda is just another example of the Democratic Party’s contempt for the middle class and the poor. Cause the problem, and then exploit it.
