I enjoyed reading Nicole Gelinas’ column, “A Desperation Move,” (PostOpinion, June 27). However, she fails to mention what she and millions of others know — growth has its limits.

We can slow down now or face worldwide catastrophic economic, social and ecological collapse at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Unfortunately, there are still millions, perhaps billions of people who don’t see it that way. They suggest we tap our last remaining oil reserves and get on with “business as usual.” Business as usual is a guaranteed recipe for disaster.
