Lost at CSEA
Narrow reporting on abuse in the state developmental-disabilities system presents the public with a distorted view of the care provided to individuals by thousands of dedicated employees who have never faced a complaint or disciplinary charge (“Protection Racket,” Editorial, March 16).
The Post distorts reality even more by misquoting me in an obvious attempt to mislead readers.
CSEA has a proud record of advocacy for better care in developmental disabilities over decades. Abuse of clients under any circumstance is not acceptable and should not be tolerated.
Yes, there is a need for better management, oversight and labor relations. Those areas can only be addressed with real understanding of facts and context, not sensationalized union-bashing.
