Why should we, the driving public, be forced to pay higher fares on bridges and tunnels to subsidize the riding public on subways and buses (“MTA $ticks It to Drivers,” Oct. 28)?

I have to weigh in about the Verrazano Bridge toll hike.
Does anyone have any common sense? At a time when the economy is in a very bad state, and people are losing their houses, the MTA decides now is the time for this.
I have a friend who travels into Brooklyn for a part-time job because he lost his other job.
He now has to pay $13 every day because he can’t afford to pay off his EZ pass.
The people that run this city just do not think things out, and it scares me.
Their timing, as always, is impeccable.
