Rep. Anthony Weiner is at it again, whining about how the mean GOP will cut our police and transportation funding (“Weiner Rips GOP’s City Cuts, Feb. 14).

What if we just took care of ourselves, instead of begging the feds for handouts?

Weiner should stop yelling, stop complaining and start working for a living.

He and weak-willed politicians like him are always looking for the easy way out by spending, instead of cutting.

Weiner blasted Republicans for pushing immediate spending cuts.

Perhaps he would have more credibility

if the Democrats had

not driven up the deficit by $2.6 trillion in just two years and spent $780 billion on a “stimulus” for shovel-ready projects that didn’t exist.

Its result — our unemployment rate remains above 9 percent, our bridges are crumbling, our roads are undrivable and our money is gone.

Weiner should explain where our money went before he points the finger at others trying to help. Aside from new spending and taxes, what’s his plan?
