NO CONFLICT HERE
“LMDC Board Member Cozy With Contractor” (Aug. 30) implies that my service as a board member of the LMDC was improper because of my law firm’s representation of Bovis.
The article critically omits to report that prior to my firm accepting the representation of Bovis in the LMDC matter, the LMDC and I obtained a letter from the New York State Ethics Commission approving, subject to certain conditions, my continued service on the LMDC during the firm’s representation of Bovis.
In accordance with the commission directives, I recused myself from any participation in the Bovis matter and every time the matter came up for a vote, and I have been walled off from the matter inside my own firm.
