Abe Lincoln said you can fool all of the people some of the time, etc., etc., — but Gov. Paterson can’t seem to fool anybody, ever.
The latest Quinnipiac Poll puts Paterson’s disapproval rating at 60-28 percent, with 53 percent of respondents saying they want the accidental governor to announce right now that he won’t be running for a full term next year.
Other polls show the same thing.
So, what’s going on?
People expect leadership from a governor, and Paterson provides anything but. He’s quick with a joke, but he hasn’t a clue when it’s time for the heavy lifting.
A little hard work, a little attention to detail — hey, could Paterson begin to turn things around?
Maybe. Time to get cracking, though.
