The Issue: Whether actress Gwyneth Paltrow is a worthy choice for People’s most beautiful woman.

***

I was rather disgusted by the article about Gwyneth Paltrow (“Is This Pompous Film Star Really the World’s Most Beautiful Woman?” April 25).

Is it her fault that People magazine decided to call her the world’s most beautiful woman?

Calling any one woman the most beautiful can always be argued, but there’s no denying that Paltrow is incredibly lovely to look at.

Something tells me she’s probably a lot nicer than the article depicts.

Saying Paltrow is the most beautiful woman in the world is like comparing the Mona Lisa to Andy Warhol’s painting of a Campbell tomato-soup can.Jeffrey Smith

Why exactly is Paltrow an “insufferable elitist”? I was not pleased by the negative tone of the article.

Paltrow did not ask to be in the magazine to “remind the world that, yes, she is much better than everyone else.”

I don’t understand why the author would launch such an attack on the actress, because, to be honest, she is beautiful.

Who cares how much she spends on her kids’ pajamas? And who cares what she eats? Paltrow takes care of herself and deserves just as much praise.

The means through which she keeps herself were earned by her and are not ours to sneer at.

She should be commended for her charity work — a real sign of inner beauty.Kristin Pinzel

Instead of writing about People’s choice, The Post should have named Victoria Soto as its most beautiful woman. Jud Askins
