THE ISSUE:Barack Obama‘s hand-picking of the media outlets allowed access to his campaign.
I have to laugh at Kirsten Powers (“A Nixonesque Move From Team Obama,” Post- Opinion, Nov. 1).
For those of us less enamored with Barack Obama and who dispassionately analyze his statements and observed his campaign’s methods to silence all dissent, the surprise is that one of his fawning acolytes actually noticed and is critical of it.
This is not the first harbinger of things to come. It is a minor example of the tactics Obama’s campaign used to elbow its way past standard campaign scrutiny.
We, who watched a smooth-talking, vacuous junior politician rise to the top of the Democratic heap by stomping on the neck of a far more capable and moderate Sen. Hillary Clinton, are not surprised; we are disgusted.

What a singular honor it must be to be “kicked off” an Obama plane.
America now has no doubt that you’re an objective, dependable newspaper.
This clumsy gorilla tactic and “maneuver-in-the-bizarre” is proof positive of the presence of a vicious, petty, crooked politician and a badge of honor for your paper. Wear it proudly. Raymond W. England

Obama’s campaign of misinformation and the soft-peddling by the leftist press left us with few sources of truth and dissenting opinion. So much for freedom of the press!
Is this a sample of what we can expect under an Obama regime?
He was the “bubble candidate” – protected by a press with a definite agenda.
Obama’s campaign looks more and more like a thinly disguised coup d’etat.

It’s interesting how the only papers sent off were those that endorsed John McCain, probably regardless of the individual reporters’ opinions.
Welcome to the world created by the left-leaning mainstream media.
When they come for you, there will be no one left to speak on your behalf.

Perhaps The Post, Washington Times and Dallas Morning News now know how Obama might deal with news organizations that won’t kiss up to him.

Powers is not looking very hard for harbingers of what would happen under an Obama administration; they’re everywhere to be found: In Chicago, Eastern Missouri and out on the campaign trail, every criticism of the “Great One” was treated as a racial transgression.

Every owner of every newspaper should join together to denounce the eviction of three press groups from the Obama plane.
This act reminds me of Richard Nixon’s bad guys list years ago. People fought and died for free access to information by all, regardless of endorsements.

Obama has given us a forecast of how he may handle media relations: He will shun those who refuse to lead his cheers.
If papers like The Post, the Dallas Morning News and the Washington Times refuse to support him, Obama will refuse access.
But Obama is not a Communist; they usually imprison or murder dissenters. Obama will simply ignore them.

Obama only allowed biased news writers and bigots on his flight, so naturally that left The Post stranded.
Your reporters were better off, as they were in good company. Who wants to sit alongside a bunch of left-wing suck-ups anyway?
The darker side of this situation is that these tactics are something you would expect from Germany or Russia in the 1930’s.
