PLASTIC OH-NO
I would like to thank the City Council for its support of reducing the use of plastic-shopping bags (“Plastic-bag crackdown,” Jan. 10).
The bags are not good for our health, they block the drainage to the sewers during rain, and they are destroying the beauty of our beloved city.
Rather than just encouraging recycling, I am earnestly appealing to the mayor and City Council to ban this hazardous bag from the market.
Instead, we can take reusable shopping bags made of cloth or degradable materials.
M. Karim, Woodside
