*** Contrary to the assertions in “The New Grub Street” (Steve Cuozzo, PostOpinion, April 4), New Yorkers support the Broadway plazas.

In 2007, according to an Edelman survey commissioned by the Times Square Alliance every two years, the No. 1 complaint of 92 percent of New Yorkers working in Times Square was sidewalk overcrowding; only 43 percent said they were satisfied with their Times Square experience.

In a follow-up survey in 2009, after the creation of the Broadway plazas, the level of satisfaction among those workers jumped to 74 percent and 76 percent of all city residents said yes to keeping the plazas.
