I take exception to putting the word “cops” in quotes when describing auxiliary police officers; it’s insulting to a group of people who volunteer their time to help protect the streets of New York (“Slay Rampage in the Village,” March 15).

In the future, reduce the size of your typeface and include “auxiliary” in the headline. It’s the least you could do. Raymond Bree
