Randi earned it
Randi Weingarten worked tirelessly as the UFT president for 10 years, and she worked for the benefit of those directly affected by the state of education: the teachers and the students (“Randi’s Golden Parachute,” Editorial, Jan. 16).
As a member of an organized charter school, my colleagues and fellow UFT members have always praised Weingarten’s dedication to all teachers and students to improve achievement.
None of my coworkers, conversely, have complained that Weingarten has been overpaid for the work she has accomplished. Weingarten’s unused vacation time is a testament to this fact.
