Far be it for me to make light of a heinous act of vandalism, but the swastika spray-painted on the office door of a Jewish professor at Teacher’s College is drawn wrong (“Swastika Found at Columbia,” Oct. 31).

The perpetrators have rotated the Nazi symbol 45 degrees to the left.

This is fine proof of what August Bebel always said: Anti-Semitism is the “socialism of idiots.”
