Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice should be the poster person for the United States – what a great role model for all children (“Writing Her Off,” PostScript, Michelle D. Bernard, Dec. 16).

Rice epitomizes what strong, intelligent parenting, perseverance, dedication and a willingness to follow the dictates of one’s intellectual discoveries can do in our country, despite the barriers of race and gender.
