As a former New Yorker, I’m embarrassed and disgusted that New York voters would allow Sen. Chuck Schumer to deny them a real choice in voting for the Senate seat currently held by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (“Puppet Show,” Maureen Callahan, PostScript, Jan. 17). After many years spent fighting for their rights, it appears New York women will now be represented by a woman who has decided it is more important to do as she is told by powerful men than to think for herself.
