The Issue: Larry Seabrook’s recent TV appearance after a jury deadlocked on charges against him.
***
If you are to be tried by a panel of your peers, it would seem that the jury in the Larry Seabrook case was made up of crooks (“Baloney on a Bagel,” Editorial, Dec. 15).
I couldn’t say that I spent almost $200 for a bagel and keep a straight face, yet this jury gave him a pass on that.
Seabrook is just another politician who has a constituency of one — himself. Is it any wonder Americans have so little faith in their governmental representatives?

What the prosecution needs to realize is that many local juries are biased when hearing evidence involving minority politicians, fearing a backlash from community leaders.
My advice for the prosecution is to cut down the number of charges and then get a conviction that would put this crook in jail.

I’m sure I am not the only one who is stunned by this injustice.
I would love for The Post to compile a list of the net worth of NY politicians before and after their political careers.
New Yorkers need to see if the people work for us or their self-interest.
New Yorkers fancy themselves as being politically savvy, but it is apparent that most New Yorkers are painfully naive.
People like Seabrook should have been voted out a long time ago. I guess his back-slapping skills are just too powerful at the ballot box.
