The solution to the problem of not bringing perps to trial in time is for the cops to never take a live perpetrator who is using a gun to commit a crime (“Justice Denied,” PostScript, Dec. 13).

Any thug using a gun in a crime should be shot and killed by the police while they attempt to make the arrest.
