* Elena Kagan is a shoo-in to join the Supremes on the high court (“Shaving the Truth,” Jonah Goldberg, Post-

Opinion, June 30).

She will sing backup while honing her liberal voice, but she will then move to center stage as a lead progressive jurist.

Kagan will champion a legal theory known as empathetic judging, which holds that the law should be applied unevenly according to the dictates of one’s heart.

Kagan may believe that the authors of the Constitution were smart but that their product is flawed because they were all white males. Fellow Justice Sonia Sotomayor will join in the opinion.

* Jonah Goldberg’s insightful analysis of Kagan’s responses during her Senate confirmation hearings points to her complete disregard for the truth.

Kagan, like Sotomayor, will give the most popular answers to win a position on the high court, but she will, in my opinion, act in the opposite manner once on the court.

With no judicial experience and a truckload of liberal baggage, she was probably selected by President Obama to serve as a very controllable rubber stamp for his agenda.

She should not be admitted to the highest court of this great nation.

* With Obama’s bad judgment in so many other areas, why should his decision on a Supreme Court pick be any different?

Kagan is, to paraphrase Sen. Herb Kohl, “lacking of judicial experience.” And, according to Sen. Jeff Sessions, she has less experience than any nominee in at least 50 years.

Kagan is in no way qualified for a seat on the court. Her history is strictly radical and left-leaning.

This will require a show of Republican strength. There is no way that any Republican could sanction this nomination. Only the most radical liberals would even entertain an approval.

* Obama has chosen a nominee who precisely reflects his political point of view.

Whether we like it or not, the president’s intention is to transform the political and economic systems of the United States.

Obama wants this country demoted from a superpower to an insignificant global entity. He rejects the traditional liberal concept of representative democracy and the Constitution.

For Obama, the Constitution is an obstacle to be overcome and a constraint to be superseded. He and his nominee favor vague human-rights principles and international law, focusing on social justice and the redistribution of wealth.

Kagan presided over a dramatic stepping away from the study of constitutional law while the dean at Harvard Law School.

This nominee and Obama’s insidious plans must be exposed and soundly rejected.

* It’s a good thing Kagan likes softball, because that’s exactly the kind of questions she was asked in the confirmation hearings.

Nobody’s even pretending that these confirmation hearings are anything but a show.

Things are sure different when a Democrat’s in the White House. When a Republican president puts forth Supreme Court nominees, it’s like they’re put in the fastball cage without a helmet.
