THE ISSUE: The custody battle between Britney Spears and her ex-husband over their two kids.

This is no time to celebrate – it is a sad day when any mother loses custody of her children (“Brit Loses Kids,” Oct. 2).

I actually feel sorry for Britney Spears. She seems to be falling apart. Hopefully things will get better for her.

Instead of taking the children away from Spears and awarding custody to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, the judge could have done better by placing them in a cave to be raised by a pack of wolves.

My heart aches for those two beautiful babies.

If this were any other pair of parents, this custody case would have been over a long time ago.

Let this fractured family – and the American public – have a little peace from the nonsense, and let’s all hope that the kids turn out well.
