Let’s send all our death-row inmates to Iraq (“Saddam Hangs,” Dec. 30).

I like the speed of their justice.

In the name of national security, we invaded a country that could never invade our own.

In the name of nation-building, we dismantled a nation, and in the name of democracy, we installed a puppet government.

We routed out this leader because we claimed he would not produce fictitious weapons he never possessed.

We have now snuffed out the spark of a “democratic revolution” that was supposed to quell a mighty threat.

With Saddam Hussein’s execution, we have killed our own democracy instead of spawning a new one.

I am as happy as anyone that Saddam got the punishment he deserved. But it doesn’t change the fact that we are fighting a never-ending insurgency and that President Bush, as of now, is refusing to adopt any new policies that may lead to a new course in Iraq.

It is not enough to simply have a new Defense secretary; there must be new policies, as well.

The ideal of a free and democratic Iraq is a noble one. Let’s make it happen, or else get out quickly.

Another sad day for liberalism has come and gone.

Thank you, Bush, for having the foresight and character to rid the world of this maniacal murderer.

It is nice to know that we have a leader who makes decisions based on what is right and not what will make the liberal press happy.

The world is a better place today.

I’m glad that Saddam is dead. Unfortunately, it was Osama bin Laden whom Bush promised to get, dead or alive.

Bush has now needlessly sacrificed an equal number of American lives in his foolish Iraq war, all the while failing to keep his post-9/11 promise.

If there’s anything we can learn from the Iraqis, it is swift justice.

No tears about what kind of childhood Saddam had and no lawyer doubletalk. And, like the judge said, there’s no room for appeals.

Hussein was a murderer, and he was found guilty, so he was hanged. That’s a legal system with teeth and a judge with guts – it works every time.

Saddam, unlike Napoleon, will never return to wreak havoc and take more innocent lives.

Now let’s get bin Laden and his right-hand man and send them to the hangman.

Did Saddam’s execution improve the situation in Iraq, or did it just produce another dead body?

We used a similar response after 9/11, and that cost us American lives and billions of dollars, not to mention tens of thousands of Iraqi lives.

Nobody knows what repercussions we will see after executing a deranged individual who had no power and no influence. Like the war in Iraq, it makes us no safer than we were before.

The Post has sickened me with its joyful coverage of Saddam’s execution.

For the first time in my life, I am ashamed to be an American.

We are supposed to be better than this.
