Steve Cuozzo’s article, “Dave’s Dubious Guide,” (PostOpinion, Oct. 24) neglects to mention the leadership role Gov. Paterson has played in restoring accountability and transparency to the World Trade Center rebuilding.

It was Paterson in the first place who asked the Port Authority to conduct a clear-eyed assessment of the WTC projects and to outline realistic timetables and budgets.

It was also Paterson who called on our agency to publish interim milestones and establish quarterly reporting to keep the public informed.

We will face many challenges as we move forward, but thanks in large part to the governor’s leadership, the public will be kept informed about the progress and issues that arise.
