Rich Lowry makes some good points in “Hope & Fear in the Arab Spring,” (PostOpinion, Feb. 1) but his opener rates a challenge.

What happened in France in 1789 and Russia in 1917 should make all of us question the mania of “democracy at any price.” Monarchy has been a longtime force, not only for stability, but also for civilization, culture and faith. Abolishing monarchy has led to the political and social curses of the 20th and 21st centuries.
