“Cronkite ‘Aired’ Protests” (May 15) claims that Walter Cronkite helped anti-war protesters in the 1960s, and the implication is that this was wrong.

Cronkite was known as the most trusted man in America at that time. His actions, if true, were meant to assist efforts being made to stop an immoral and illegal war.

America is currently fighting a war seemingly without end. Where are the Walter Cronkites now when they are so desperately needed?
