Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This column:

“The Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous?”

We say: Szalai, like many partisans, sees the Constitution as a threat when it results in outcomes they don’t like — in this case, the “political ascent” of Donald Trump.

The real threat is people like Szalai who want to upend our democracy to make sure their side wins.

This praise:

“The person who should be applauded is the president, who did the most selfless thing that anybody’s done since George Washington.”

—  George Clooney, Sunday

We say: Is Clooney kidding — or clueless?

Maybe the actor hopes to smooth things over with the prez after joining calls for him to give up the Democratic nomination, but his flattery simply doesn’t fly.

Biden had to be forced out after much kicking and screaming.

This demand:

“The Beltway Media Got Its Harris Interview. Can We Move On Now?”

—  The Nation, Friday

We say: Kamala Harrisdoes one 16-minute softball interview with a friendly reporter and couldn’t even give answers on what she’d actually do as president.

Yet The Nation wants Americans to “move on”?

No wonder: The more she talks, the more obvious that she’s out of her depth. Nothing to see here, folks!

This claim:

“We’ve seen grocery prices come down over the past year or more.”

We say: Nope. Americans are shelling out 21.1% more for groceries than when President Biden took office in 2021, and prices have gone up 1.1% in the past year alone.
