Peggy Noonan makes some great points, so my only disagreement is with her interpretation of the message that the Republican victories in New Jersey and Virginia sent (“ O Isn’t Listening to Us,” PostScript, Nov. 8).

The recent tea parties, at which mainly Democratic politicians were angrily attacked, revealed a depth of frustration I’ve never seen before.

It’s obvious that the country has had enough of pork-barrel spending masquerading as a stimulus bill, rising unemployment and the government’s attempt to take over the entire health-care system.

The public is fed up with politicians who think that they’re in charge and that we’d better toe the line.

The message is simple: You work for us and, when you don’t, we’ll fire you.
