The Issue: Vice President Kamala Harris tapping Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.
The selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate demonstrates just how far the Democratic Party has maneuvered to the left (“Out of left field,” Aug. 7).
As governor of Minnesota, Walz’s record has shown his propensity to initiate an abundance of far-left policies.
His statement about one person’s socialism being another person’s neighborliness only exemplifies his political persona.
His miserable handling of the Minneapolis riots resulted in a costly and ruinous period of civil unrest.
Couple this with reports that Harris advocated for bail fund contributions for the felons, and you get a microcosm of what Harris-Walz “leadership” portends if the two are elected.

Minnesotans are proud of their state, and there’s a lot of understandable excitement about Harris selecting Walz as her running mate.
During his first term as governor and his time representing Minnesota’s First Congressional District in the House, the then moderate and sensible Walz was held in high regard, even by many Republicans such as myself.
But in 2020, motivated to get the national attention he has now attained, Gov. Walz tacked hard to the political portside.
The strategy clearly worked well career-wise for him, but it has been a disaster for the once-thriving Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Well, the Democrat Party has finally gone over the cliff and should now be called the Progressive — or Socialist Party — with the addition of Tim Walz to the Kamala Harris ticket.
What a choice.

The editorial claiming that Harris selected Walz as her running mate “plainly because she didn’t dare cross the left by tapping a Jew” suggests The Post must have some kinda crystal ball (“A Damning Veep Pick,” July 7).
You do know Harris is married to a Jew, correct?
Not every political move is automatically against Israel, because (hello), there’s more than one issue on the table.
With Walz, we have a solid, appealingly Midwestern VP choice, who stands for what many voters believe represents the best of genuine American values: service for the common good and equal opportunity for all.

In her VP pick, Harris did former President Donald Trump a huge solid.
She chose someone who is just as far-left as she is.
Walz let Minneapolis burn during the protests following George Floyd’s death.
I’ll take the “weird” combo of badass Trump and Iraq vet Sen. JD Vance over Harris-Walz any day.

Like former Vice President Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz of the Gopher State also is known as a happy warrior.
I don’t know how Republicans are going to label Walz, but I do know this: It will be weird.
How could it be anything else?
Many in the GOP want to outlaw all abortions, end electric car mandates and ban books in public libraries.
For a party that professes to celebrate individual freedom, the GOP clearly relishes the opportunity to invade people’s privacy and attack their personal choices.

It is clear to me that the Harris campaign’s decision to tap Walz proves that it is not at all interested in making America great again.

Criticizing the Harris-Walz ticket, Michael Goodwin managed to check all the boxes (“Hitting us with 2 left schnooks,” Aug. 7).
The Harris-Walz ticket has no need to sell out the middle class or centrist-liberal Democrats: President Biden already did that.
His administration was the transitional one that bought time for the leftists to condition their liberal party members to accept the eventual transformation of the Democratic Party into a Europeanized socialist party.
