Though Cindy Adams contends that I don’t “want it anymore,” my family has had the honor of owning and operating Tavern on the Green for more than 30 years, and I fully intend to continue that legacy for at least 30 more (Cindy Adams, Dec. 11).

In 1974, my father, Warner LeRoy, renovated and revitalized Tavern on the Green when tourists were loathe to enter Central Park at night, let alone stop by for dinner.

In the 33 years since, Tavern has become a true institution for New Yorkers and tourists that is filled to capacity for almost ever meal.

Last year, we sat more than 632,000 guests, and that number continues to grow. It is truly a landmark, within perhaps New York’s greatest landmark – Central Park.

I not only hope to continue to own and operate it for years to come, but see it as a legacy that I can pass to future generations.
