UNHOLY DEVELOPMENT
“Let St. Vincent’s Build” (Editorial, July 13) appears to be deliberately misleading.
It is not St. Vincent’s that plans to build the huge luxury residential tower in the Village, but a real-estate developer, Rudin Management. The entire scheme is another “land grab” by a developer.
The introduction of approximately 400 new families in the neighborhood would strain, to the breaking point, an already overburdened local school system.
An alternative solution to St. Vincent’s problems could have been found had the political will and foresight been exercised. However, real-estate developers have the politicians in their pockets.
