The Issue: Changes that could be made at the United Nations to better suit US interests.

Benny Avni wants to reform the United Nations, but that’s not good enough (“How To Force the United Nations To Change,” PostOpinion, Sept. 3).

The United Nations practically encourages war and aggression, and is attempting to destroy American sovereignty.

Let’s get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

It is past time we reform the mechanism by which America pays dues to the misnamed United Nations.

It is corrupt, inefficient and biased, and it makes a mockery of the term “united.” We should no longer help provide a forum for international miscreants.

A new formula should be devised and quickly endorsed by Congress.

Avni writes that the United States and Japan pay more than one third of the United Nations’ yearly tab and suggests holding back funding when other members do not agree with our policy.

The United Nations stops no conflicts, takes up prime real estate and costs a ton of money.

If members still insist on a United Nations, let’s put it somewhere away from the city’s night life and comforts and see how many of these overpaid despots volunteer their service.
