The Issue: The death of Kimani Gray, a gang member, cops say, who pointed a gun at them.

Kimani Gray had a loaded firearm that night — a recipe for disaster (“Blame Kimani Gray,” Bob McManus, PostOpinion, March 14).
Councilman Jumaane Williams, the new Al Sharpton, already blames the police and Commissioner Ray Kelly for the destructive act of a known gang member and criminal.
Why isn’t the councilman questioning the parents? Where were they while their 16-year-old son was roaming the streets? Parents should be held accountable for their sons’ acts of violence throughout Flatbush.
Enough is enough with these baby-faced thugs prowling the city streets causing harm. Parents have to look at themselves and take full responsibility and more interest in their children’s lives so these tragedies are avoided.

Violent crimes in this city are most often committed by minorities against other minorities.
As a person who works in an inner-city social-development agency, I have seen the police blamed repeatedly anytime they try to interdict people suspected of criminal activity.
I don’t claim to have an easy solution to the seemingly endless cycle of violence and poverty, but constantly blaming the police is definitely not the answer.

Why does The Post even bother reporting on the predictable musings of a street-thug apologist like Williams?
Race-baiters like him think it’s acceptable for urban punks to aim weapons at police officers and walk away without consequence.
Gray is being lionized in certain circles as a martyr to some ridiculous cause.
Nobody has the decency to speak out about the scourge of abysmally bad lifestyle choices that are being made every day by punks in cities around the country.
Instead, we get the tired “blame the cops” litany from vermin who try to shift responsibility from thugs to those whose job it is to try to bring a modest measure of civilization to the streets.
When Williams urges personal and parental responsibility, that would be newsworthy.
