Holocaust survivor, activist and author Elie Wiesel voiced his opinion that the two men accused of the home invasion in Connecticut should be spared the death penalty (“Let Killers Live,” Oct. 30). I have a question for him: Who asked you for your view?

If this case were one of anti-Semitism, I would appreciate his viewpoint. If this were a case that even had some evidence of a racial element, I would welcome his viewpoint.

This is a case of home invasion, torture and murder. If both of the accused are convicted, the state of Connecticut should impose the maximum penalty, in the quickest way possible.

They don’t deserve to live. I’m sorry, but in this particular “crime against humanity,” Wiesel’s opinion is not requested.
