Out of thousands of entries worldwide, here are the winners of the Open competition of the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards. The ten categories in the Open competition are judged by an expert panel tasked with selecting the strongest single image taken by a local photographer. The winning images range from dreamy landscapes to surreal scenes of human endeavor. However, they all share the most important element in all great photography: vision.
