Real estate mogul Alex Sapir, the son of the late Soviet-born developer Tamir Sapir, is about to put his West Chelsea penthouse on the market for around $11.5 million, Gimme Shelter has learned.
Sapir — who now runs Sapir Corp., a publicly traded Israeli investment company, out of South Florida — moved to Miami during the holidays.
His duplex, at 447 W. 18th St., features three landscaped terraces that total around 1,310 square feet. The five-bedroom pad measures 3,950 square feet and features High Line and Hudson River views.
Sapir bought the penthouse for $9.38 million in 2014.
The 12-story building, Chelsea Modern, was designed by Audrey Matlock and comes with a cobalt blue glass curtain wall.
Building amenities include a landscaped garden, a roof deck, a gym, cold storage and a 24-hour doorman.
The listing broker is Corcoran’s Julie Pham.
