Timothy Steinert, general counsel and corporate secretary for Alibaba Group has bought a massive unit at the famed Ansonia building, at 2109 Broadway on the Upper West Side, for $9.49 million.

The seller was Michel Madie, of Michel Madie Real Estate Services.

The combination pad measures 4,500 square feet, with room for seven bedrooms.

The home comes with original herringbone floors and restored windows. It includes a solarium and a wrap balcony.

The landmarked building was originally built as a hotel.

The hotel’s founder, copper heir William Earle Dodge Stokes, built a unique farm on the roof that included 500 chickens, as well as ducks, goats and, reportedly, a small bear.

But the farm was shut down by the city in 1907.

By the 1970s, it housed a gay bathhouse where Bette Midler sang, and later it was the home of Plato’s Retreat, a sex club for swingers that was shut down by Mayor Ed Koch in 1980.

Past residents included Babe Ruth, Igor Stravinsky and Angelina Jolie.
