Simca automobile heir and entrepreneur Jean “Johnny” Pigozzi lives large in homes around the world, from Geneva and Paris to Panama and New York.

Now the photographer, art collector and investor is about to re-list his triplex penthouse atop the Upper West Side’s Hotel des Artistes.

The spread at 1 W. 67th St. will return to market at about $11.99 million — down considerably from its recent $18 million asking price.

“Johnny is one of the world’s greatest characters,” Elton John once told Vanity Fair. “I don’t really know what he does, though, apart from always taking those pictures.”

Pigozzi — who counted Andy Warhol among his mentors — is also known for his 10,000-piece-strong collection of African art.

Corcoran listing broker and “Million Dollar Listing New York” star Steve Gold, who is marketing the apartment, helped Pigozzi streamline the works to make the spread more navigable for potential buyers.

The 7,652-square-foot, six-bedroom home, whose living room alone measures 1,180 square feet, was designed by the late Italian architect Ettore Sottsass.

It features a master bedroom that opens to a private 827-square-foot rooftop terrace with a large solarium and views of Central Park. There’s also an original stairway with restored architectural millwork.

Pigozzi’s recent projects have included building an environmental research center on his own private island in Panama, called Liquid Jungle Lab, and “Pool Party,” a collection of his personal photographs of celebrities — including Mick Jagger, Elizabeth Taylor and Bono — at his home on the Côte d’Azur.

The Hotel des Artistes building has been home to playwright Noel Coward, dancer Isadora Duncan, painter Norman Rockwell and former mayor John Lindsay.
