With the city and state nearing an agreement on the status of Brooklyn Bridge Park, we got in touch with Elizabeth Mitchell at the Empire State Development Corporation to ask if the powers-that-be had decided yet on an opening date for the park’s Pier 1. No hard date, Mitchell writes, but “we expect to open a section of Pier 1 in the next several weeks.”

So, there’s that. Let the countdown begin.
