A townhouse built by CBS founder William S. Paley for his first wife Dorothy in 1934 has hit the market for $16.9 million — down significantly (some 66%) from its 2015 asking price of $49.9 million.

The red brick and limestone home, at 29 Beekman Place, has only had two other owners since then.

In 1940, while their marriage went south, the Paleys rented the home to Albert and Mary Lasker, pioneering health advocates, who later bought it and lived there for 35 years. It was then owned by the late Ashraf Pahlavi, who was the twin sister of the Shah of Iran.

The property, which is being marketed with 10 bedrooms, is 12,260 square feet and comes with two terraces totaling around 1,500 square feet of outdoor space.

Inside, there are eight fireplaces, 11-plus-foot ceilings, a large chef’s kitchen and even a banquet hall, according to the listing.

There’s additionally a solarium off the family room and a wine cellar. Other members of New York’s elite — from Irving Berlin to Greta Garbo — also once called this area home.

The listing brokers are Charlie Attias, Connor Ramage and Ryan Loucas, of Corcoran.
