Hats off to top milliner Patricia Underwood, who has collaborated with designers like Ralph Lauren and whose looks have been worn by celebrities including Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

After decades in Chelsea, Underwood is relisting her five-story townhouse at 483 W. 22nd St. for $7.9 million and moving to Westchester to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, Gimme Shelter has learned. (It was asking $8.95 million with a different brokerage in January.)

The home, built in 1856, is across from Clement Clarke Moore Park and is part of the Chelsea Historic District. It comes with six bedrooms and nine original wood-burning fireplaces. Other original details include maple floors with walnut inlays. Underwood bought the townhouse in 1986 for around $600,000 and spent two years renovating it.

At the time, it was a single room occupancy (SRO)-filled house, and Underwood had to guarantee it would be used as a single-family home. “We restored it lovingly. We have been very happy here,” she says of her and husband, venture capitalist Jon Moynihan.

The home also features high ceilings, a chef’s kitchen, formal dining area and a large backyard with a bluestone terrace garden and pergola.

Underwood adds that she hasn’t “given up” on New York and just “made some hats” for Gwyneth Paltrow. “I design for women who think,” she says.

The listing brokers are Corcoran’s Nicholas Athanail and Spencer Cutler.
