Social justice activist Korey Wise, who was wrongfully convicted as one of the “Central Park Five,” is listing his Harlem home for $995,000.
Wise bought the unit at 2300 Frederick Douglass Boulevard, via the King W1SE Irrevocable Trust, for $925,000 in 2019.
In 1989, Wise, who was then 16 years old, was wrongfully accused and jailed, along with four other black and Latino teens, for the rape and beating of a 28-year-old jogger.
At that age, Wise was the oldest of the five and the only one tried as an adult. He spent close to 14 years in prison.
After a convicted serial rapist and murderer, Matias Reyes, confessed to the crime, the Central Park Five sued the city, which settled in 2014 for $41 million. Their heartbreaking story was portrayed in a Ken Burns documentary and a Netflix docuseries, “When They See Us.”
