Condé Nast’s late editorial director Alexander Liberman and his wife Tatiana lived in this Upper East Side townhouse, at 173 E. 70th St., from 1942 to 1991.

In their heyday, they entertained bold-faced names like Jackson Pollock, Greta Garbo, Yul Brynner and designers like Oscar de la Renta.

The home first hit the market for $9.6 million earlier this year; it recently lowered its asking price to $8.6 million.

The bones include four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It has been restored by designer Victoria Hagan.

There’s an eat-in kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a light-filled living and dinning room, three fireplaces and a 38-foot garden with tall trees and rhododendron.

The listing brokers are Brown Harris Stevens’ Paula Del Nunzio and Marjorie Flannigan MacLachlan.
