Banking scion Nick Loeb — better known these days as the “Onion Crunch” guy who wants access to frozen embryos he created with his ex-fiance, “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara — is apartment-hunting.

Loeb recently toured a penthouse owned by leveraged buyout mogul-turned-Broadway lyricist and documentary producer Al Tapper.

The Midtown East penthouse, at the Lombardy Hotel, was built by William Randolph Hearst in the 1920s. The unit, at 111 E. 56th St., comes with great city views and a new asking price of $3.99 million — down from its original $4.29 million asking price last May.

The 3,800-square-foot three-bedroom, 2½-bathroom unit also features 1,400 square feet of outdoor space.

The maintenance fees are high — $18,767 a month — but they include hotel services, like twice-daily maid service, and the costs of electricity, gas and real estate taxes.

The listing brokers are Jana Angelakis and Shannon Aalai, of Citi Habitats.
