Here’s one property you won’t find on Craigslist!
Craig Newmark, owner of the infamous classified ads Web site, recently bought the first two floors of a four-story, West Village townhouse for $6 million. The Real Deal first reported the sale.
The 63-year-old entrepreneur purchased the three-bedroom, 3 ½-bathroom pad with his wife this month as a place to stay in NYC when they’re not at home in San Francisco (where Craigslist is based).
Built in 1848, the historic building boasts a red brick exterior and features a landscaped garden, temperature-controlled wine room and library.
Listing photos make it look incredibly classy, with a double-height living room, muraled walls and stained-glass windows.
Newmark must like real life a little more dressed up than his iconic bare-bones Web site. (Thank goodness.)
